Is it mandatory to integrate documents into VNeID?
Currently, there are no regulations requiring citizens to register for an electronic identification account or integrate their identification documents into the VNeID application.
However, to optimize administrative procedures and easily manage personal information, citizens should integrate documents into VNeID – electronic identification account.
The four types of documents you can add to your e-ID account are:
- Vehicle registration;
- Driving license;
- Health insurance card;
- Dependent information.
Note:
Currently, you cannot integrate passport into VNeID. Online Accounting will add a way to add passport into VNeID as soon as the application is updated and developed.

Instructions on how to integrate additional information and documents into the VNeID application
1. How to integrate vehicle registration into VNeID at home
To add vehicle registration information or vehicle registration certificate to VNeID, you need to follow these steps:
➧ Step 1: Log in to the VNeID application
In case you forgot your password and cannot log in to your VNeID account, please refer to the article:

➧ Step 2: Check the current version of the VNeID application
VNeID application from version 2.0.8 or later can add vehicle registration. To check the application version, you can do 1 of 2:
- Method 1: Open the VNeID application version located at the bottom of the screen;
- Method 2: Log in to your account and select “Settings”, find the application version information in the “Applications” section.
➧ Step 3: On the homepage, select “Paper wallet” >> select “Integrate documents” >> select “Create new request”
➧ Step 4: Select the arrow icon, click “Register vehicle” and enter the information as required by the system. You need to provide the following information:
- Vehicle Type (click on the arrow icon to select motorcycle, moped or car);
- Frame number;
- License plate number.
Then tick “I confirm the above information is correct” and click “Submit request”.
Note:
Currently, there are some cases where integrating vehicle registration into VNeID is rejected, reported as an error… at this time, you need to go directly to the vehicle registration authority to update the missing information and data. Depending on each case as well as each type of vehicle, the competent authority to issue vehicle registration is:
- Traffic Police Department;
- Traffic Police Department;
- District police;
- Commune police
2. How to add dependents to VNeID identification account
➧ Step 1: Log in to the VNeID application
➧ Step 2: Check the current version of the VNeID application
To automatically integrate dependent information for family deduction on VNeID, the application must be version 2.0.4 or higher.
➧ Step 3: On the homepage, select “Paper wallet” >> select “Integrate documents” >> select “Create new request”
➧ Step 4: Select the arrow icon, select “Dependent”, enter information as required by the system
You need to provide dependent information including:
- Dependent’s personal identification number;
- Full name of dependent;
- Dependent’s permanent residence.
Select “I confirm the above information is correct” and click “Submit request”.
3. How to add driver’s license to VNeID
➧ Step 1: Log in to the VNeID application
➧ Step 2: Check if the VNeID application version is version 2.0.6 or higher
➧ Step 3: On the homepage, select “Paper wallet” >> select “Integrate documents” >> select “Create new request”
➧ Step 4: Select “Driver’s license”, enter information as required by the system, including:
- Driver’s license number;
- Driver’s license class (select the arrow icon to find your driver’s license class).
Tick “I confirm the above information is correct” and “Submit request”.
Note:
In case the integration of driving license into VNeID is rejected, you need to check if you are in one of the following cases:
- Entering missing or incorrect information on the driver’s license;
- The declared information is not synchronized with national population data information;
- VNeID application is faulty or has not been updated to the latest version;
- Driver’s license has expired or has been revoked…

4. How to integrate health insurance into VNeID
➧ Step 1: Log in to the VNeID application
➧ Step 2: Check if the VNeID application version is version 2.0.4 or higher
➧ Step 3: On the homepage, select “Paper wallet” >> select “Integrate documents” and select “Create new request”
➧ Step 4: Click to select “Health Insurance Card”, select “Health Insurance Card Issuing Unit” and enter “Health Insurance Card Number”
Note:
Enter all the characters of the health insurance card code according to the old card model (15 characters) and the new card model (10 characters) as illustrated. Then select “I confirm that the above information is correct” and “Submit request”.

How to check documents and information integrated into VNeID account
To check whether your personal information and documents have been added to your VNeID identification account, you can follow these instructions:
➧ Step 1: Log in to your VNeID electronic identification account
➧ Step 2: On the homepage, select “Document Wallet”, select the type of document or information to check
➧ Step 3: Enter passcode or confirm with fingerprint/face (Face ID)
At this step, the application will ask you to authenticate in 1 of 2 ways:
- Method 1: Confirm by face/fingerprint;
- Method 2: Enter passcode.
➧ Step 4: Click “Verified” or “Waiting for authentication” or “Authentication failed” to check the integration request resolution status of the VNeID system.

5. Can I show my driver’s license on VneID?
Pursuant to Point b Clause 3 Article 18 Circular 32/2023/TT-BCA, citizens can present their driver’s license in their electronic identification account when the Traffic Police requests to check information.
Note:
During the inspection, if the VNeID account is found to be counterfeit or if the individual or organization is subject to temporary detention, revocation of the right to use, or revocation of documents, or if documents need to be verified, the traffic police officer will request the presentation of original documents for handling according to the law.

You can retrieve your VNeID account password in 1 of 2 ways:
