3 steps to report increase or decrease in social insurance electronically
1. Plug the digital signature/token device into the computer;
2. At this step, businesses can choose 1 of the following 2 ways:
- Register for a social insurance transaction account and declare at https://gddt.baohiemxahoi.gov.vn;
- Use social insurance declaration software (I-Van) to declare and export the declaration to an xml file.
3. Wait for the insurance agency to check and report the results, then:
Depending on each specific case, the time for the Social Insurance Management Agency to return the documents is different. Normally, the documents reporting the increase or decrease will be returned within 5 working days from the date of receiving the documents.

1. When a business recruits new employees or has employees quit, when is the deadline to report an increase or decrease in social insurance?
For labor increase: According to the Law on Social Insurance 2014, from the date of labor increase, the enterprise must carry out procedures to declare an increase in social insurance within 30 days;
For labor reduction: According to Article 10 of Official Dispatch 1734/BHXH-QLT on social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and occupational accident and disease insurance, from the date of labor reduction, the enterprise must proceed to make a dossier to reduce social insurance from the 28th of the previous month or the 1st of the following month (however, with this method, the enterprise will have to pay health insurance for the following month).
2. If I pay social insurance online, can I look up social insurance in the same way? And how to look up?
The Social Insurance website is only used to submit documents, monitor the application process (complete, valid or not) and the time to return results. It is not used to check the social insurance payment process of employees.
