A work permit is a permit issued by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs or the provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to foreigners, allowing them to work for a limited period of time in Vietnam. - Certified copy of business registration certificate of the enterprise.

➨ Where to submit application: Enterprises or organizations employing foreign workers submit their application directly to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs or the Provincial People’s Committee.
➨ Application submission time: At least 30 days before the work permit expires.
➨ Processing time: Within 10 working days from the date of receiving the dossier of the organization or enterprise, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs or the Provincial People’s Committee shall issue a document approving or disapproving the use of foreign labor according to form No. 03/PLI.
2. Procedures for extending work permits for foreigners

Note:
Original or certified copies of documents issued by foreign organizations, enterprises or competent foreign authorities must be translated into Vietnamese and consular legalized.
➨ Agency receiving documents: Department of Employment, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the province or Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
➨ Time for submitting application: Organizations or enterprises employing foreign workers must submit application for work permit extension at least 5 days but no more than 45 days before the work permit expires.
For example: If your work permit is valid until December 31, 2024, you must apply for renewal between November 17, 2024 and December 27, 2024;
➨ Processing time: Within 5 working days from the date of receipt of a valid application for work permit extension, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs or the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs shall extend the work permit for the foreigner. In case of refusal to extend, the competent authority shall issue a written reply stating the reasons.
The term of the work permit is extended.
